The core maintainers are having an ad hoc meeting this friday. Usually they meet quarterly but at the Dec 5th meeting they decided to add an additional meeting in early Jan.
As has been announced Soumith is in the process of moving towards stepping down as lead core maintainer. In the Dec 5th meeting two new core maintainers were nominated and approved and the group decided they wanted to meet again to consider more nominations, to welcome the new core maintainers, and to continue discussing the smooth transition of technical leadership.
The agenda is still being developed but will be along the lines of the following:
- Review and approve notes (what is said and what is redacted) from last meeting
- Maintainer or core maintainer nominations received? PyTorch Core Maintainer Mandate
- Tech topics
